The Centre for Solar Energy and Hydrogen Research Baden-Württemberg (ZSW) is one of the leading institutes for applied research into the major issues relating to the energy transition which include photovoltaics, wind energy, battery technology, fuel cells, electrolysis, e-fuels, circular economy, policy advice, and the use of AI for process and system optimisation. We work in tandem with industry to pave the way to market for new technologies. The challenge falls to more than 300 employees and around 100 research and student assistants at the ZSW bases in Stuttgart and Ulm. The ZSW also operates a test site for wind energy and another test site for PV systems. The ZSW is a member of the Innovationsallianz Baden-Württemberg (innBW), an alliance of ten applied research institutions.

For the department Accumulators Materials Research at the Ulm site, we are seeking as soon as possible a

Research Assistent (Post Doc) (m/f/d) process technology

Your areas of responsibility:

  • Management and processing of research projects on the development of lithium-ion electrodes and cells
  • Further development of formulations and processes for electrode production, elaboration of technological progress
  • Assessment of the electrochemical performance of electrodes in prototype cells
  • Instruction of technical staff
  • Communication with customers and offer preparation
  • Presentation of project results at project meetings and conferences
  • Writing of project reports
Your profile:

  • Above-average university degree in Chemistry, Electrochemistry, Anorganic Chemistry or comparable qualification
  • Profound knowledge and experience in the field of electrochemistry and Li-ion electrodes production
  • Very good skills in processing data and in scientific evaluation
  • Very good German and English language skills and high expressiveness in spoken and written language
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Surpassing commitment, an eye for the most important aspects and structured and goal-oriented work approach
